Accommodation & Social Housing in Barnsley

This project would not have been possible without the support from the government’s empty homes funding to help cover the refurbishment costs.

As part of our commitment to the local community, BCB Trading Ltd own a property on Sheffield Road which is available for homeless and recovering mental health people in the Barnsley area.

Our Social Housing project is the result of a number of organisations working together including Barnsley Council, Moorlands College, MIND and BCB’s Construction Team. Over a twelve month period an old Victorian town villa was totally refurbished transforming the interior to provide six single bedsits and two single bed flats.

Barnsley Council provided the initial loan to purchase the property. Moorlands College recruited and supported the apprentices in developing their work skills and knowledge alongside achieving the NVQ level two qualifications. MIND refer the tenants and provide the support that they need to establish an independent lifestyle. BCB coordinated the project and is the managing agent.
